Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


Substation control and monitoring system design and parameterization
Human Machine Interface / SCADA Parameterization
BCU and Protection digital relay parameterization for Medium and High Voltage IEDs
Substation control and monitoring system commissioning including conduction of functional performance, Factory Acceptance test and Site Acceptance test with witness.
Prepares technical reports and documentation of the results that include panel drawings, test protocols, SCADA Point list/Module data Checklist.
Project reporting to the technical Project management.
Responsible to follow EHS guidelines.
Update with end user technical standards and regulations
working in team environment and sharing knowledge.
Travel all over the kingdom for participation in commissioning activities.
Implement the cybersecurity in automation system.
Pre-Commissioning and Planning:
Review Project Specifications: Thoroughly examine the design specifications, technical documents, and system requirements to understand the scope of work.
Develop Commissioning Plans: Create detailed commissioning plans that outline the schedule, tasks, resources, and necessary procedures for the project.
Preparation of Tools and Resources: Ensure that all necessary tools, testing equipment, and resources are available for commissioning activities.
2. System Installation Oversight:
Monitor Installation: Oversee and monitor the installation of equipment, ensuring that it is done according to design specifications and in compliance with industry standards.
Collaboration with Contractors: Work closely with contractors, vendors, and the construction team to address any issues that arise during installation and ensure the proper installation of systems.
3. Testing and Inspection:
Pre-Commissioning Tests: Conduct initial testing of installed equipment to ensure proper functionality before the system is fully commissioned. This may include checks like verifying electrical connections, fluid systems, and controls.
Performance Testing: Perform functional testing, system calibration, and start-up procedures to verify that all components are operating at optimal performance.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all commissioning activities meet the company’s quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
4. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Identify Problems: Identify and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies that arise during the commissioning process, such as malfunctioning equipment, faulty installations, or programming errors.
Problem-Solving: Work with engineering teams, contractors, and technical experts to resolve issues quickly and efficiently to prevent delays.
Reporting Issues: Document any issues or deviations from specifications and report them to the relevant stakeholders, suggesting possible solutions.


Desired candidate profile

Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering
0-2 years’ Experience as SAS engineer for SIEMENS substation automation system SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC, SIMATIC Wincc, SICAM A8000.
Knowledge of SIEMENS SAS systems
Knowledge of different protocol in automation system such as IEC 61850.Modbus, IEC, IEC, IEC, IEC
Knowledge of Networking in automation system. IEC 60870-5
Knowledge of cybersecurity in automation system.
Knowledge of non-SIEMENS SAS systems is an advantage.
Having a knowledge of programming and scripting
Written and spoken English language.
Personal skills
System Handover:
Prepare Handover Documentation: Compile and prepare all necessary documentation, including test reports, inspection records, and operation manuals, to ensure a smooth handover to the client or operations team.
Train Operations Staff: Provide training to operations personnel on how to use, maintain, and troubleshoot the system, ensuring they are fully capable of operating it safely and efficiently.
Final Acceptance Testing: Conduct final acceptance tests to ensure that all systems meet performance standards, and address any final concerns or adjustments.
