JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Hematology Oncology Physician

Specialty/Dept.: Hematology Oncology

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: Nags Head NC

Service Setting: Outpatient Only

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: September 2 2025 September 4 2025

Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM daily

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adults

Patient Volume/Census:

MD: 1214 patients/day

APP: 810 patients/day

Case Mix: General Hematology and Oncology Cases

FACILITY INFORMATION

Trauma Level: N/A (Critical Access Hospital with 21 beds)

EMR System: Epic/Beacon

Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesiologists Onsite Radiologists

Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Reason for Coverage: Temporary Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

Credentialing Timeline: TBD

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care in an outpatient setting

Collaborate with APPs and support staff to ensure continuity of care

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active North Carolina License

Certifications: Board Certification DEA

Experience:

Clinical experience in hematology and oncology

Familiarity with Epic/Beacon EMR systems preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver highquality hematology and oncology care to adult patients in an outpatient setting

Collaborate with APPs and other healthcare providers

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic/Beacon EMR

Ensure seamless coordination with Vidant Air and Vidant Ground Support for patient transfers as needed

Participate in orientation onsite the day prior to the shift start

Outer Banks Hospital is a 21bed critical access hospital with 3 operating rooms and 1 Csection room

24hour laboratory availability

Vidant Air and Ground support for immediate patient transfers
