JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Physician Emergency Medicine (Physician)

Specialty/Dept.: Emergency Medicine

Job Type: Locum Tenens

Location: McAllen Texas

Service Setting: Emergency Room (ER)

Coverage Type: Clinical Only

Coverage Period: February 3 2025 August 30 2025

Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible Schedule

PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatric Patients

Patient Volume/Census: TBD

Admissions: Yes

Case Mix: Emergency and Trauma Cases

FACILITY INFORMATION

Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center

EMR System: TBD

Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology Surgery and Other Specialties

Support Staff Available: Registered Nurses (RNs) Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

Reason for Coverage: Temporary Supplemental Coverage

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Rate: TBD

Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance: Covered

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Emergency and Trauma Stabilization

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active Texas Medical License

Certifications: AHAapproved ACLS ATLS NRP and PALS

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Medicine (or IM/FM with relevant experience)

Other Qualifications:

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine (ABIM/ABFM)

Recent CME (9 hours Stroke CME 9 hours Trauma CME annually)

Case logs from the past two years

Copies of all educational and training diplomas

Social Security Card Driver s License and a recent color photo

Compliance with TB/Flu requirements

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide highquality care to patients in the Emergency Department

Perform emergency procedures as required

Collaborate with support staff and specialty backups to manage patient care

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system

Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory compliance standards
