Roles and responsibilities
1. Teaching Responsibilities:
- Course Instruction: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in management information systems, such as IT strategy, systems analysis and design, database management, e-commerce, enterprise resource planning (ERP), cybersecurity, business analytics, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course content, including syllabi, assignments, and exams, to ensure courses are aligned with current technological trends and industry needs. Integrate real-world examples, case studies, and industry best practices into lessons.
- Classroom Engagement: Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate interactive discussions. Use diverse teaching methodologies such as hands-on labs, case studies, group projects, and online learning tools to make the learning experience dynamic and relevant.
- Assessment and Feedback: Create assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects to assess student understanding of MIS concepts. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Academic Advising: Advise and mentor students, providing guidance on course selection, career paths, and internships in the field of MIS. Assist students in their academic and professional development.
- Industry Collaboration for Internships: Help students secure internships and co-op opportunities with technology companies, government agencies, or consulting firms, allowing them to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings.
2. Research Responsibilities:
- Conduct Research: Engage in original research on topics related to MIS, such as IT governance, data analytics, digital business models, e-commerce, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and the role of technology in business transformation.
- Publish Research: Write and publish research papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the academic literature in the field of MIS. Present findings at national and international conferences to engage with the broader research community.
- Collaborative Research: Collaborate with other faculty members, business professionals, or technology companies on interdisciplinary research projects. Potential areas of collaboration might include the intersection of business processes and information technology or the role of emerging technologies in business innovation.
- Seek Research Funding: Apply for research grants from government agencies, foundations, or industry partners to fund research on emerging issues in MIS. Write proposals for studies exploring areas like cybersecurity, digital transformation, or the impact of AI on business processes.
- Supervise Graduate Research: Mentor graduate students (Master's/PhD) in their research projects, providing guidance on research methodology, data analysis, and the writing and publication process. Oversee thesis or dissertation work related to MIS topics.
3. Professional Development:
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Continuously update knowledge of the latest trends in information technology, business systems, and digital innovation. Attend conferences, workshops, and webinars related to MIS to ensure teaching and research stay relevant.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain connections with professionals in the IT and business sectors to foster collaboration on research, internships, and guest lectures. Develop partnerships with industry leaders to ensure the MIS program aligns with industry needs.
Desired candidate profile
1. The applicant must be a Saudi national.
-2. The applicant must have obtained all his/her academic qualifications from Saudi universities or recognized universities.
-3. The applicant’s grade for the position of Assistant Professor must not be less than a very good grade in all academic stages. Applicants who obtained a good grade in the bachelor’s stage are exempted from this in cases of academic or research excellence.
-4. The applicant must attach the “equivalency certificate” issued by the Ministry of Education for the academic qualifications he/she obtained from non-Saudi universities.
-5 The study system for the applicant in all stages (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) must be full-time and full-time. The applicant must attach the scholarship or assignment decision if he is a government employee.
-6 There must be an extension of specialization between academic degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
-7 Attach the classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (for applicants for health jobs).
-8 The applicant must provide the correct data matching the official documents and the required attachments during the application period.
-9 Attend and pass the personal interviews.
-10 The applicant must be medically fit.
