Roles and responsibilities

1. Teaching Responsibilities:

• Course Instruction: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in cybersecurity topics, such as network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, cyber risk management, digital forensics, malware analysis, secure software development, cloud security, and security protocols.
• Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials to ensure that they reflect the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cybersecurity. Create engaging course content, including syllabi, lectures, assignments, labs, and exams.
• Hands-on Learning: Provide opportunities for students to engage in practical, hands-on labs where they can practice detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats. Use real-world simulations, penetration testing tools, and security software in the classroom.
• Student Assessment: Evaluate students’ performance through assignments, exams, quizzes, lab work, and group projects. Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Academic Advising and Mentorship: Serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate and graduate students, offering guidance on course selection, career development, and research opportunities. Mentor students on cybersecurity-related capstone projects or research.

2. Research Responsibilities:

• Conduct Research: Engage in original research on advanced topics in cybersecurity, such as network defense, encryption algorithms, threat intelligence, cyberattack detection and prevention, security in the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) in cybersecurity, and privacy-preserving technologies.
• Publish Research: Write and publish research papers in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present your findings at international cybersecurity conferences. Your research can explore both theoretical and applied aspects of cybersecurity to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with Industry: Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, and research organizations to address real-world cybersecurity challenges. Work on projects involving threat intelligence, incident response, and security architecture.
• Seek Research Funding: Apply for grants and funding from government agencies, industry partners, or academic institutions to support cybersecurity research projects. Write proposals to secure research funding for innovative cybersecurity technologies or solutions.
• Supervise Graduate Students: Mentor graduate students (MSc/PhD) in cybersecurity-related research projects. Guide students in experimental design, data analysis, writing research papers, and publishing their findings.

3. Professional Development:

• Stay Updated with Trends: Cybersecurity is a rapidly evolving field. Continuously update your knowledge by attending industry conferences, webinars, and workshops. Engage with cybersecurity communities and read current research to stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies.
• Networking: Build and maintain professional relationships with other cybersecurity researchers, industry professionals, and educators. Participate in cybersecurity conferences, workshops, and training events to exchange ideas and collaborate on research.

Desired candidate profile

1. The applicant must be a Saudi national.
-2. The applicant must have obtained all his/her academic qualifications from Saudi universities or recognized universities.
-3. The applicant’s grade for the position of Assistant Professor must not be less than a very good grade in all academic stages. Applicants who obtained a good grade in the bachelor’s stage are exempted from this in cases of academic or research excellence.
-4. The applicant must attach the “equivalency certificate” issued by the Ministry of Education for the academic qualifications he/she obtained from non-Saudi universities.
-5 The study system for the applicant in all stages (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) must be full-time and full-time. The applicant must attach the scholarship or assignment decision if he is a government employee.
-6 There must be an extension of specialization between the academic degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
-7 Attach the classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (for applicants for health jobs).
-8 The applicant must provide the correct data matching the official documents and the required attachments during the application period.
