Roles and responsibilities

1. Teaching Responsibilities:

• Lectures and Seminars: Deliver lectures on topics related to community health nursing, including epidemiology, health promotion, disease prevention, health policy, maternal and child health, geriatric care, and managing public health crises.
• Clinical Instruction: Provide clinical instruction in community-based settings, such as public health agencies, schools, and home care. Supervise nursing students in real-world environments, guiding them in providing community-focused healthcare, conducting home visits, and participating in outreach programs.
• Curriculum Development: Design and update course materials and syllabi for community health nursing courses, ensuring that the curriculum is evidence-based, reflects current trends in public health, and aligns with accreditation standards.
• Student Assessment: Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, community health projects, and clinical evaluations. Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their practical skills and theoretical knowledge in community health nursing.
• Mentoring and Advising: Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to nursing students, offering guidance on their educational and professional paths. Assist students with research projects, clinical placements, and career advice, especially in community health and public health nursing.

2. Research Responsibilities:

• Conduct Research: Engage in research focused on community health nursing, such as the evaluation of public health interventions, health disparities, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, or health education strategies.
• Research Publication: Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, present research at academic conferences, and contribute to the growth of knowledge in community health nursing and public health nursing.
• Grant Writing: Apply for research funding through government agencies, healthcare organizations, and private foundations to support community health nursing studies.
• Supervision of Student Research: Mentor graduate or doctoral students conducting research in community health nursing. Provide guidance on study design, data collection, analysis, and writing research papers.

3. Clinical and Applied Community Health Nursing:

• Public Health Practice: In some cases, faculty members may continue to practice community health nursing by participating in clinical work with public health agencies or health departments. This could include running vaccination clinics, offering health education, or working with vulnerable populations.
• Community Outreach Programs: Lead or collaborate on community health initiatives, such as wellness screenings, immunization drives, health education campaigns, and programs aimed at reducing health disparities in underserved communities.
• Health Promotion and Prevention: Teach students how to assess community health needs, develop health promotion and disease prevention programs, and evaluate their effectiveness within various populations.

Desired candidate profile

1. The applicant must be a Saudi national.
-2. The applicant must have obtained all his/her academic qualifications from Saudi universities or recognized universities.
-3. The applicant’s grade for the position of Assistant Professor must not be less than a very good grade in all academic stages. Applicants who obtained a good grade in the bachelor’s stage are exempted from this in cases of academic or research excellence.
-4. The applicant must attach the “equivalency certificate” issued by the Ministry of Education for the academic qualifications he/she obtained from non-Saudi universities.
-5 The study system for the applicant in all stages (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) must be full-time and full-time. The applicant must attach the scholarship or assignment decision if he is a government employee.
-6 There must be an extension of specialization between academic degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
-7 Attach the classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (for applicants for health jobs).
-8 The applicant must provide the correct data matching the official documents and the required attachments during the application period.
-9 Attend and pass the personal interviews.
-10 The applicant must be medically fit.
