Roles and responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Lecture and Seminar Delivery: Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials on subjects related to physiology, such as human physiology, cellular biology, biochemistry, and pathophysiology.
- Curriculum Development: Design and develop course materials, syllabi, and lesson plans in alignment with the program’s educational goals.
- Laboratory Instruction: Supervise practical sessions and laboratory work for students, ensuring safety and proper research techniques.
- Grading and Assessment: Evaluate students’ performance through assignments, exams, quizzes, and practical work. Provide feedback on student progress.
- Advising and Mentoring: Offer academic advising to students, guiding them through their coursework and research opportunities. Serve as a mentor for students pursuing graduate-level studies.
2. Research Responsibilities:
- Research and Publication: Conduct original research in the field of physiology, including experiments, data analysis, and interpretation. Publish research findings in reputable academic journals.
- Grant Writing: Apply for research funding through grants, government funding bodies, or private organizations.
- Supervision of Graduate and Doctoral Students: Oversee and guide the research work of graduate students (master’s or PhD level).
- Collaboration: Engage in interdisciplinary research and collaborate with other departments, universities, or research institutions.
3. Administrative and Service Responsibilities:
- Committee Participation: Serve on departmental, university, or academic committees, contributing to the development and implementation of institutional policies.
- Program Development: Assist in the development and evaluation of degree programs and curricula.
- Student Recruitment and Retention: Participate in activities to recruit new students, such as open houses, orientation programs, and professional networking events.
- Service to the Community: Represent the department at conferences, workshops, and other academic or professional events.
4. Professional Development:
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field of physiology and related disciplines through workshops, conferences, and ongoing education.
- Networking: Build relationships with other academics, researchers, and professionals in the field to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Desired candidate profile
-1 The applicant must be a Saudi national.
-2 The applicant must have obtained all his/her academic qualifications from Saudi universities or recognized universities.
-3 The applicant for the position of Assistant Professor must have a grade of not less than Good in all academic stages. Applicants who have obtained a Good grade in the Bachelor’s stage are exempted from this in cases of academic or research excellence.
-4 The applicant must attach the “Equivalency Certificate” issued by the Ministry of Education for the academic qualifications he/she obtained from non-Saudi universities.
-5 The study system for the applicant in all stages (bachelor's, master's, doctorate) must be full-time and full-time. The applicant must attach the scholarship or assignment decision if he is a government employee.
-6 There must be an extension of specialization between academic degrees (bachelor's, master's, doctorate).
-7 Attach the classification certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (for applicants for health jobs).
-8 The applicant must provide the correct data matching the official documents and the required attachments during the application period.
-9 Attend and pass the personal interviews.
-10 The applicant must be medically fit.
