Convention Set-up Supervisor

Responsible for overseeing the setup and take down of convention functions. Responsible for personnelrelated matters and for scheduling staff to ensure appropriate coverage for the banquet facilities. Maintain proper inventory and controls of the banquet facility equipment.

Job Functions

• Act as a liaison for the hotel with the client on a daily basis to ensure the success of meetings and report any changes in requirements to appropriate management staff.
• Coordinate and oversee physical setup requirements and execution.
• Maintain proper inventory of conference center equipment and monitor storage areas.
• Handle personnelrelated matters including interviewing hiring scheduling training evaluating coaching and counseling for the convention porters.
• Ensure adherence to company rules policies and procedures.
• Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage on a 24hour basis for all service functions in the conference center and throughout the hotel as required by customer functions.
• Maintain cleanliness of entire convention area and be knowledgeable in the proper us of cleaning equipment and related chemicals.

Qualifications :

• Six (6) months of experience in a similar position preferred. 
• Must be knowledgeable of a wide variety of banquet setups and be able to lead staff in the most effective and efficient execution of banquet orders. 
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. 
• Must be able to lift carry maneuver reach twist bend kneel and the like in the course of setting a room for a function. 
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. 
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
