Job Description
- Safety: The coordinator will be responsible for enhancing the safety of everyone who enters the rail corridor. This includes managing proper track protection and requesting a Flagger for subcontractors and our crews working in the rail corridor of MX.
- Education: The coordinator will need to provide accurate and comprehensive education to ensure the safety of thirdparty contractors. Familiarity with MXs projects will be beneficial.
- Access Control: The coordinator will manage access to the rail corridor including the timely allocation of transport means and equipment.
- Planning and Coordination: The coordinator will need to plan synchronize and execute complex undertakings with a diverse set of individuals in different roles.
- Provide Management with data and project analysis.
- Review contract documents construction drawings generate procurement list RFIs Change Orders Permitting traffic and lands information etc. as necessary.
- Track productivity costs and progress on Ontario Line South.
- Liaise with and inform stakeholders vendors owners on project schedule.
- Review create and present job cost reports to management.
- Provide data and input for monthend reconciliation.
- Maintain files and correspondence.
- Assist in the coordination preparation and submission of asbuilt drawings and design drawings.
- Liaise with clients contractors and internal departments.
- Other administrative duties as required.
- Able to perform in a fastpaced environment.
Qualifications :
- Education: A degree in transportation civil engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Relevant experience working on Metrolinx projects as well as experience in railway operations is required. Familiarity with rail safety regulations and policies. Must have experience using NAPT software more below.
- 24 years of working in a similar project coordination role in a full time or coop capacity
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in Metrolinx projects such as NAPT tools and strong skills in Microsoft Office tools. Experience with scheduling software is an additional advantage.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective coordination with various stakeholders.
- Problemsolving: Ability to analyze data and resolve issues effectively in a fastpaced environment .
- Teamwork: Experience collaborating with teams and external partners is crucial.
- Understanding of Regulatory Environment: Knowledge of Metrolinx rail corridor rules and standards including General Engineering Instructions (GEI) and Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) as well as different rail corridor access and track protection rules preparation the work plan methodology and risk assessment is advantageous.
