Job Description

As a Data Engineer in IKEA Components you will work closely together with our solution and integration teams in turning source data into frontend consumable information. You will analyse business needs and manage the backend to transfer those needs into actionable insights together with Frontend BI Developer and Business Performance Analysts.

You will be responsible for:

  • Transforming data into an analyzable format (ETL/ELT) to deliver business benefits.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructures for data sourcing processing and sharing.
  • Optimize test and implement tools to enhance data quality and monitor drift and decay.
  • Manage data integration processing and modeling.
  • Translate business data needs into technical solutions and architectures.
  • Ensure compliance with security legal and delivery standards.
  • Support and coach teams in datadriven development.
  • Document and share knowledge on data infrastructure within IKEA.
  • Documentation of data models/solutions in Confluence

Qualifications :

To shine in this role we believe that you:

  • Have extensive experience in designing data pipelines data warehousing data modeling and databases.
  • Have strong expertise in SQL and good in Python or other database scripting languages as well as generalpurpose data handling languages.
  • Good knowledge of onpremises cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Are a team player who takes ownership builds crossfunctional relationships with senior peers and enjoys mentoring junior team members.
  • Are a worldclass problem solver with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Are analytical with a holistic mindset and longterm thinking.
  • Are selfdriven and good in understanding different business contexts.
  • Enjoy working together and communicating with colleagues globally.
  • Are passionate about how new technology can be used to improve our business.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft PowerBI and SSRS.

We believe that you have a relevant university degree and/or some years of experience from working with data and analytics in a relevant context. Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.

IKEA Components hold a unique position in the IKEA value chain. With business in six continents we are responsible to develop purchase and supply components and materials to IKEA suppliers retailers and customers all over the world. We are currently around 1400 coworkers at IKEA Components globally whereof the majority are located in our three sites in Sweden Slovakia and China.
