Job Description
About the Role: Data Scientist Doordash
As a Data Scientist at DoorDash youll:
- Mentor other scientists and leverage your quantitative background.
- Dive into large datasets to guide decisionmaking across diverse challenges such as:
- Customer acquisition.
- Fraud prevention and support.
- Marketing strategies.
- Balancing supply and demand.
- Launching new cities.
- Enhancing marketplace efficiency.
- Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
- Use quantitative analysis and data presentation to uncover key business drivers.
- Produce actionable recommendations through statistical techniques and hypothesis testing.
- Identify and measure levers to improve essential metrics and provide strategic recommendations.
Experimentation and Reporting:
- Build fullcycle analytics experiments reports and dashboards using SQL R Python or other tools.
- Report progress against goals by defining essential metrics and creating executivefacing dashboards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement validate and monitor logging.
- Mentorship and Collaboration:
- Work with and mentor junior analysts guiding them through advanced methods and complex challenges.
- Collaborate with business and product leaders to offer insights into marketplace dynamics user behaviors and longterm trends.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Degree in Math Physics Statistics Economics Computer Science or a related field.
Experience:
2 years in data analytics consulting or a related role.
Handson experience with:
Funnel optimization user segmentation and cohort analyses.
Time series analyses and regression models.
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in SQL queries ETL processes A/B Testing and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with statistical packages like Matlab R SAS or Python.
Expertise in analytics and visualization tools such as Chartio Looker or Tableau.
ProblemSolving Skills:
Ability to address ambiguous problems in a structured hypothesisdriven and datasupported way.
