Job Description:
We are seeking a junior GIS Developer to support the Transportation & Mobility Planning Division (TMPD) by maintaining and enhancing a webbased GIS planning tool. The ideal candidate will play a key role in data management analysis and visualization to aid in transportation planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect manage and analyze geospatial data from various sources.
- Create detailed maps charts and reports using GIS software.
- Perform data cleaning and quality control to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with departments for GIS support and training.
- Stay updated on GIS tools technologies and best practices.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Familiarity with database management tools (e.g. Oracle PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
- Basic knowledge of Python for automating geospatial processes.
- Understanding of programming basics and spatial analysis techniques.
- Experience with web mapping in an AWS environment and using Mapbox is a plus
