Job Description

Position: DB2 Database Administrator

Location: Clayton MO (Onsite)

Mode of Hire: Contract

Job Description:

  • Knowledge on core concepts of DB2 LUW. L2 L32
  • Extensive experience with planning documenting and performing upgrades and migration setting up new database environments.
  • Experience in problem analysis and troubleshooting database related issues.
  • Provide performance tuning support to development teams for resolving issues with space usage stored procedures SQL Tuning and application monitoring.
  • Analyze and tune SQL statements and indexes; make performance recommendations to development teams.
  • Understand metadata metrics trending and automation.
  • Advanced scripting skills required.
  • Advise developers for best practice rollout implementation support.
  • Work with vendor for tuning recommendations.
  • Implement fixpacks and security patches when required.
  • Participate in disaster recovery exercises.
  • Knowledge on DB2 HADR HACMP. Qreplication knowledge is preffered.
  • Monitor production databases and dbm settings adjusting for optimal performance and throughput.
  • Configure DB2 Connect Server and Client and install ODBC drivers.

  • To adhere to quality standards regulatory requirements and company policies
  • To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases
  • To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
  • To independently resolve tickets & esnure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
  • To provide support for on call escalations /L3 level support and doing incident & problem management
  • Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update & management Training freshers coaching analysts & conducting interviews/participation in hiring drives.
