Responsibilities:
- Dispensing Medications:
- Dispense medications under pharmacist supervision and investigate medicationrelated issues.
- Accurately calculate doses and load automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
- Deliver medications to patient units and prepare discharge medications.
- Conduct monthly inspections of medication rooms and maintain inspection logs.
- Investigate and compile information for Pyxis override reports.
- Maintaining Inventory and Supplies:
- Receive store and rotate incoming medications and supplies.
- Monitor replenish and credit returned medications.
- Check for expired or shortdated medications and appropriately label bulk supplies.
- Providing Information and Responding to Requests:
- Provide courteous service to healthcare providers and respond to inquiries.
- Answer and direct pharmacy calls promptly.
- Assist hospital staff patients and visitors at the pharmacy walkup door.
- Record entries in the pharmacy intervention log as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proven accuracy and attention to detail in dispensing medications and maintaining inventory.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for professional interactions with healthcare staff and patients.
- Ability to follow pharmaceutical protocols and meet compliance standards.
