Job Description
Job Title: Application Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Houston TX 77027 Hybrid
What youll do:
- This candidate would be working on Quotations and Design aspects of electrical equipment (i.e. Application Engineer) in a team/queuebased setting with fastpaced work expectations. Ideal would be someone who is a quick learner with experience in electrical distribution equipment.
- This position is primarily responsible for quoting and designing custom EngineeredtoOrder (ETO) solutions for the NEC market. This includes reviewing RFQs preparing ETO quotes interfacing with the ETO Engineering team supporting quote leadtime process improvements and providing custom product recommendations to Sales and Distributors.
- 1. Review and quote customer RFQs for NEC product families.
2. Implement and effectively coordinate the quote and engineering leadtime requirements.
3. Prepare pricing and proposals for special products within assigned product families as requested by Sales and
Distributors.
4. Assist with preliminary drawings and customer reference material/specifications as required.
5. Review and recommend changes in ETO products and pricing based on Customer and Sales feedback for ETO PLM and Engineering review.
6. Assist in maintaining quality and efficiency through each stage of the quotation lifecycle (Order Entry Approval Drawings Customer Feedback and Production).
7. Assist in continuous process improvement for the ETO Quotation and Engineering teams
8. Create templates and reference material to increase team efficiency.
9. Promote collaboration and interaction with the ETO Engineering team and serve as a point of communication between the two teams.
10. Analyze competitors actions product developments pricing strategy product policies and activities. Prepare and publish appropriate details for use by ETO PLM and Field Sales.
11. Assist in researching and resolving ETO product inconsistencies arising from manufacturing and engineering inquiries changes in vendor supplies and customer complaints.
