We are Hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist Oncology for our Hospital client in Dublin.
Responsibilities
- Assessing diagnosing and managing the symptoms and side effects associated with cancer treatment
- Providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing chemotherapy radiation or other cancer treatments
- Educating patients and families about the disease process treatment options and possible side effects
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Conducting research to improve patient outcomes and advance the field of oncology nursing
- Providing consultation to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals about complex patient care issues
- Ensuring that cancer care is delivered in a safe and effective manner in accordance with established clinical protocols and standards
- Advocating for the needs of cancer patients and their families providing emotional support and counseling services
Requirements
- Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) registration (required)
- Postgraduate Diploma or equivalent in Oncology Nursing (important)
- Masters (MSc) in Oncology Nursing is preferred.
- 3 years of expertise in the speciality area of medical oncology (essential).
- Have demonstrated clinical and professional ability.
- Have strong IT abilities and experience with the essential apps.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work on his or her own initiative.
- Have strong communication and leadership abilities as well as the ability to interact favourably with patients and colleagues.
- Be energetic and very motivated.
- Have demonstrated the ability to work under pressure.
