Job Title: Cyber Event Lead

Compensation: 1099 Contract $6080 per hour
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Cyber Event Lead for a 1099 contract position with an hourly rate between $6080 based on experience. The Cyber Event Lead will play a critical role in planning designing and implementing cyber events. This position requires close collaboration with engineers stakeholders and endusers to meet technical objectives. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in systems administration network engineering and cybersecurity with experience in classified environments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Event Designers and End Users to develop detailed technical tasking for cyber events identifying required technologies and tools.
- Manage risks and requirements with Lead Engineers ensuring clear communication of complex tasks to program leadership.
- Break down complex projects into manageable tasks supervise engineers and track progress effectively.
- Support system deployments including planning design software evaluation operating systems selection and protocol configuration.
- Design implement and troubleshoot networking components such as routing switching and specialized communication (e.g. VPNs).
- Ensure system designs align with client specifications quality standards and budgets.
- Provide handson support during initial deployments and troubleshooting.
- Prepare and deliver briefings to senior management and client personnel on technical matters.
- Adhere to configuration and change management policies to ensure proper system updates.
- Enhance system security by implementing tools policies and procedures.
- Work with vendors and IT personnel to resolve fieldrelated issues and ensure system stability.
- Operate in both classified and unclassified environments to achieve project goals.
Minimum Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in cyber operations or a similar field.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Broad technical knowledge with the ability to apply it to achieve outcomes.
- Capability to follow guidance from leadership and clients effectively.
- Experience in handson collaborative technical environments.
- High proficiency in systems administration and IT concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentations.
Desired Skills & Requirements:
- Experience with software development or scripting languages such as Python Bash or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Handson expertise with network devices and services including routers switches firewalls and VPNs.
- Familiarity with virtualization tools such as VMWare ESXi vCenter and P2V conversions.
- Knowledge of logical isolation for virtual enclaves in test environments.
- Military or DoD contractor experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with DoDstandard endpoint toolsets like Kali Linux or Security Onion.
- Understanding of the DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) lifecycle for cyber testing.
- Networking certifications like CCNA are a plus.
