Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to join our dedicated healthcare team in South Central New York. As a licensed allied healthcare professional you will play a pivotal role in promoting the optimal health of studentathletes and physically active individuals. Working under the direction of a physician your expertise will focus on injury prevention evaluation management emergency care rehabilitation and ensuring a safe return to play.
You will provide outreach services to high school and junior high athletics at contracted schools contributing to the wellbeing and success of young athletes in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver highquality care to athletes including injury prevention immediate care assessment rehabilitation and communication with providers.
- Monitor athletic activities for safety hazards and make recommendations to coaches or athletic directors regarding protective equipment.
- Develop and implement effective training and conditioning programs in collaboration with coaching staff.
- Assess treat and document emergent acute and chronic sportsrelated injuries and illnesses.
- Create individualized treatment plans under the supervision of the Medical Director or the athletes physician/provider.
- Maintain thorough documentation in the EMR system for all injuries treatments and encounters.
- Provide returntoplay guidance for athletes in consultation with physicians and communicate effectively with school officials parents/guardians and coaches.
- Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain and enhance skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of a CAATEaccredited bachelors or masters degree program.
- Certification: BOC certified and in good standing.
- Licensure: Current state licensure in New York (dual licensure in New York and Pennsylvania preferred).
- Other Certifications: Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Professionals.
- Experience: Preferred experience working with adolescent athletes.
Essential Skills:
- Strong communication skills to maintain professionalism with athletes families and school personnel.
- Ability to assess and manage sportsrelated injuries effectively and efficiently.
- Knowledge of athletic training equipment and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems particularly Presagia EMR.
- Commitment to adhering to federal and state guidelines professional standards and organizational policies.
Additional Information:
- Location: Binghamton NY
- Compensation: $55000$80000 per year plus comprehensive benefits package. Up to a $30000 salary
