Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our With Capital one . The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing optimizing and maintaining our organizations database systems to ensure their availability reliability and performance. This role requires a deep understanding of database architectures advanced troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to database optimization and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Design install configure and maintain database systems (e.g. Oracle SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL MongoDB).
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using replication clustering and backup strategies.
Performance Tuning:
Monitor and optimize database performance using tools and best practices.
Analyze query execution plans and optimize SQL queries indexes and schema designs.
Security and Compliance:
Implement robust database security policies including user access management and encryption.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. GDPR HIPAA PCIDSS) and organization policies.
Backup and Recovery:
Develop test and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
Perform regular database audits to ensure data integrity and availability.
Upgrades and Migrations:
Plan and execute database upgrades migrations and patch management.
Transition databases between onpremise and cloud environments when required.
Automation and Scripting:
Automate routine database tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Python Shell PowerShell).
Implement database monitoring and alerting systems to preemptively address issues.
Collaboration:
Work closely with application developers IT teams and business stakeholders to design scalable and efficient database solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior DBAs and team members.

Diagnose and resolve databaserelated issues including performance bottlenecks and data anomalies.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
Experience:
8 years of handson experience as a DBA in a largescale environment.
Proven experience with database management systems (e.g. Oracle SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL NoSQL).
Technical Skills:
Expertise in database performance tuning indexing partitioning and query optimization.
Knowledge of cloud database platforms (AWS RDS Azure SQL Google Cloud SQL).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash PowerShell).
Familiarity with big data solutions and distributed databases is a plus.
Experience:
