Shift Notes: 10:00A 6:30P (40 Hour Guarantee)

Weekend Requirements: Every 5th weekend to work 10:30a7 pm and oncall starting Friday 11:00 pm until Monday 6 am

OnCall Requirements: 1 Night/Week Rotating

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to; performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients utilizing highly technical equipment and administering contrast materials as required. Other functions may be assigned.

A Day in the Life of an MRI Technologist:

• (25%)* Prepare scan room and patient for examination.
• (25%)* Draw up IV contrast if needed; administer oral contrast if indicated; perform the warmup procedure on equipment; enter patient data and appropriate scan parameters; review patient data to ensure proper exam; review previous exams. Interview and screen patients for contraindications before having an MRI study; explain the procedure and answer patient questions.
• (25%)* Transport patient into the exam room assist patient & position appropriately for the exam; determine if allergic to anything; inject appropriate IV contrast; perform a scan with attention to appropriate positioning; be alert for need of additional or thinner slices/images. Utilize correct protocols coils restraints and other materials when scanning.
• (15%)* Assure proper marking of the patients orientation; enter images with a keypad and pay attention to the order of images.
• (10%)* Prepare records for the radiologist and ensure that all clinical information is complete; ensure that exam images are in the correct order; provide additional information as required.

• 2 Years Experience Required
• GE 1.5 Highly Preferred (Please note visibly if the candidate has this experience on profile)
• Associate Degree Required

• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms taken within the last two years
• Licensure & Certifications (ARRT & BLS AHA)
