Roles and responsibilities

To provide an excellent and consistent level of service to your customers
To ensure the smooth operation of the activities and maintenance of pool and the relevant equipment
Holder of an international lifeguard certification (gold)
Minimum of 2 years work experience as fitness instructor or consultant
We are looking to recruit an observant lifeguard to ensure the safety of visitors to our aquatic facility. The lifeguard will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. You will play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms, and restrooms. You will maintain pool equipment, and monitor and record pool temperatures.

To ensure success you need to assess situations swiftly and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift, and safety-minded.

Lifeguard Responsibilities:
Overseeing activities at an aquatic facility.
Assisting with swimming lessons.
Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of patrons.
Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger.
Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations.
Maintaining order in swimming areas.
Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning.
Performing first aid procedures.
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas.
Maintaining records and reports.

Desired candidate profile

• Supervising swimming activities at the aquatic centre and making sure that safety procedures, guidelines and policies are followed
• Warning of unsafe activities and enforcing water safety policies and pool regulations
• Providing first aid in the event of injury, rescuing swimmers in danger or distress and administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or artificial respiration, if necessary
• Assessing conditions for safety and coming up with an action plan for aquatics emergency
• Inspecting pool equipment, facilities and water to make sure they are usable and safe
• Supervising and assisting in cleaning equipment and facilities
• Opening and closing the pool each day, depending on schedule and hours
• Organising and overseeing pool parties
• Instructing or assisting classes in fundamentals of swimming
• Resolving scheduling conflicts to make sure the pool environment is safe for competitions
