- In this position we are looking for a Sr. BI Engineer with experience in applying analytics to solve complex business problems.
- The ideal candidate has a demonstrable track record of success in driving business impact through application of analytics.
- As a BI Engineer you will work closely with internal stakeholders to perform data analyses develop complex SQL queries for adhoc requests and projects define metrics through your deep understanding of the business and create selfservice dashboards/reports to bring visibility into health of the business.
- You will exercise your technical skills in SQL Python or other data analysis tools and visualization tools such as QuickSight in order to produce reports and build dashboards that are flexible and informationrich.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides robust BI solutions for complex problems that are extensible and scalable.
- Designing developing and managing cloud based analytics tools to develop selfservice/automation capabilities.
- Partnering with Customer Experience program and analytics teams to identify new product development ideas draft technical requirements and build solutions to enable teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Advocate the team on cloud based tools/services for data deep dives insight generation and help stakeholders to think/operate at scale.
- Research Collaborate and Implement new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging business problems.
- Serve as liaison between the business and analytics team to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance and adhoc investigations to support future improvements or innovations.
- This will require data gathering and manipulation problem solving and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Drives best practices in operational excellence data modelling and analysis. Ensure that BI solutions are correctly and efficiently supporting the business.
- Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data and build data visualizations to tell the story of business trends patterns and outliers through rich visualizations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- 6 years of experience in BIE
- 5 years of SQL experience
- Experience programming to extract transform and clean large (multiTB) data sets
- Experience with AWS technologies S3 and Athena is preferred
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau Quick sight or similar tools
- Experience building measures and metrics and developing reporting solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- Masters degree in statistics data science or an equivalent quantitative field
