Job Description
Senior Electrical Engineer
About the Job:
We are seeking a senior Electrical Engineer with strong technical communication and leadership skills who will not only be engaged with exciting projects and clients but also lead the work of the electrical department in its Columbia office. The Department Head will coordinate the teams workload while also being responsible for working independently on multiple concurrent projects both in design and construction and preparing contract documents and specifications for complex building systems.
Responsibilities:
- Train support and mentor team members.
- Coordinate the workload of the electrical team.
- Ensure projects are completed on time on budget and to the highest quality.
- Build maintain and strengthen relationships with clients as a key contact.
- Provide technical expertise to the office.
- Perform full design of lighting power and fire alarm systems including full equipment selection for all size projects.
- Analyze system options and evaluate existing systems where appropriate.
- Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients.
- Complete full design in accordance with code. Production is performed using AutoCAD & Revit depending on preference of architect.
- Write specifications.
- Provide bid and construction phase services including reviewing bids answering RFIs reviewing shop drawings participating in project walkthroughs and providing field observation reports.
- Must be proficient in building electrical systems and shall be considered a technical expert and resource to the office.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical focus.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- PE certification required.
- AutoCAD & Revit proficiency.
