Responsibilities Project Management - Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion ensuring scope budget and schedule compliance.
- Build and maintain client relationships managing expectations and deliverables effectively.
- Lead project teams providing guidance to ensure successful execution.
Field and Technical Expertise - Perform onsite investigations including surveying condition assessments performance evaluations field testing and sample collection.
- Develop detailed project deliverables including proposals technical analyses repair solutions construction drawings specifications and reports.
- Understand Hawaiis unique tropical climate and apply techniques to mitigate structural damage and degradation.
Collaboration and Business Development - Build relationships with local contractors designers building officials and stakeholders within Hawaiis professional community.
- Contribute to organizational goals through mentoring participation in research and development initiatives and involvement in professional organizations.
- Support business development by engaging new and repeat clients.
Qualifications and Competencies - Education: Masters degree in civil/structural engineering or related field (equivalent expertise considered).
- Licensure: Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience: At least 7 years of relevant industry experience (10 years preferred) in investigating designing analyzing and repairing structural systems (e.g. concrete steel wood masonry).
- Skills:
- Proficient in technical analysis and project management.
- Strong written verbal and graphical communication skills.
- Handson experience and willingness to conduct fieldwork.
Physical Requirements The position involves both office and field responsibilities requiring:
- Visual acuity listening skills and dexterity to operate office and field equipment.
- Ability to inspect buildings and structures often in confined or elevated spaces.
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and utilize ladders scaffolds and lifts safely.
- Fitness for using respiratory protection devices and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to travel and operate a motor vehicle safely.
