Job Description
Duties: Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Environmental Services Management Team responsible for the cleanliness and servicing of assigned work areas care of assigned equipment and economical and efficient use of all supplies. Responsible for performing a variety of custodial and nursing duties to maintain a sanitary and orderly condition of the multiple Henry Ford Health System locations. Principle Duties And Responsibilities: Sets up rooms move furniture remove medical non regulated and recycled waste. Operates ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment (i.e. Xenex Robot). Performs a variety of housekeeping duties such as cleaning walls ceilings floors and windows. Changes and hang all drapes and cubicles. Delivers and pick up tables and chairs for meetings and other hospital functions. Operates various floor machines to remove dirt from floors. Strips and refinish floor surfaces. Cleans after construction projects are completed and prepare for opening the area. Reports any mechanical failures or negative conditions as observed in assigned areas for preparation of work order for the maintenance department. Notifies supervisor when supplies are low and need to be replenished and/or ordered. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program environmental and infection control standards. Maintains confidentiality of patient and unit data per HIPAA regulations. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental/interdepartmental objectives and maintain good employee relations. Enhances job related growth and development through participation in educational programs current literature inservice meetings and workshops. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Skills: Required Skills & Experience: Physical ability to lift push pull and/or squat a minimum of 50 pounds able to stand and walk 90% of work period and able to walk stairs and negotiate uneven surfaces. Must be able to interact directly with patient population job requires high visibility. Must exhibit consistently high level of customer service and Patients First sensibility. Preferred Skills & Experience: Custodial experience preferred.
Education: Required Education: N/A Preferred Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. Required Certification & Licensure: N/A Preferred Certification & Licensure: N/A This is the pay range that RightSourcing (a part of Magnit) reasonably expects to pay someone for this position however as a supplier your expected pay range may vary and/or include certain benefits like: Stipends (for clinical traveler workers only) Medical Dental Vision 401K. Pay range: (USD)(USD)17 hrly (USD)(USD)22 hrly.
Schedule Notes: **REQUIRED: Weekend and holiday availability Minimum 2 years custodial experience preferably in hospital setting knowledge of how to operate janitorial machinery (ex: side by side walk behind). ** Preferred: High School Diploma/GED Position is working in the ED. Candidate that solely have housekeeping experience are not likely to be suited to this position.
