Job Description
We are seeking a PRN (as needed) Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our surgical team in Baltimore. In this role you will provide skilled nursing care in our stateoftheart operating room ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert perioperative care.
- Function as both a scrub nurse and primarily as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures
- Prepare operating room for scheduled surgeries ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Maintain sterile field and assist surgical team during procedures
- Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures
- Coordinate with surgical team members to ensure efficient room turnover
- Document patient care using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Respond to emergency situations following established protocols
- Participate in surgical counts and specimen handling
- Assist in the orientation of new staff members
- Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications :
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Maryland
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience
- Current BLS certifications
- CNOR certification preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in both scrub and primarily in circulating roles
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Experience with electronic medical records systems (EPIC)
- Excellent sterile technique and infection control practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed (PRN basis)
