Ingram Barge Company has an opening for a Claims Administrator based out of our Nashville TN offices. In this hybrid role you will be supporting and collaborating with staff in the administration of claims matters including management of correspondence clerical administrative and legal tasks. A successful claims administrator will be proactively organized and process oriented.
What you will be doing:
Claims administrative duties
- Advising internal and external stakeholders on processes necessary for prompt claim payments
- Answering phones and providing directions to internal and external stakeholders regarding claim status and documenting files to record the same.
- Securing updated W9s for A/P processing of claims.
- Managing all mail for the Claims department to include preparation of invoices for medical bill review and A/P.
- Managing digital invoices and upload to OnBase system for A/P processing.
- Sending vendor authorizations to Accounts Payable to set up vendors for payment.
- Preparing and distributing introductory and longterm disability letters for Jones Act employees.
- Extended absence compensation and interruption of Voyage compensation data entry.
- Collaborating with Barge Maintenance & Repair staff to secure appropriate invoices for processing.
- Preparing and distributing maintenance spreadsheets for Adjuster review approval and A/P processing.
- Ordering supplies for department as appropriate
- Securing and paying final invoices on inactive files and close claim
- Special projects as assigned
Claims software administration duties:
- Approving payments and exports to Accounts Payable
- Entering record payments managing exceptions report
- Assisting with troubleshooting of systems
- Facilitating any updates.
Qualifications :
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- 01 years of experience
- Hybrid work schedule
- High school diploma/GED required
- Previous Claims experience is a plus!
- Previous administrative experience required
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word Excel Outlook PDF)
- Excellent organization and communication skills
