Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS242)
This course covers basic concepts of microbiology with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy microbial growth and genetics antimicrobial agents epidemiology and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques isolation and culture of microorganisms microscopy and staining techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organizes prepares and regularly revises and update all course materials.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and courserelated software including Websites email and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives assignment/examinations dates and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications :
- Earned a masters or doctorate degree in Microbiology Biology or very closely related field with a required minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in microbiology.
- Have taught or been told youre a natural at teaching and helping others learn
- Possess genuine passion for nursing education and lifelong learning
- Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion respect and care
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues students and the broader community
- Have a strong work ethic learn from mistakes build positive spirit and always look for a better way

- Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US coursebycourse equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
Additional Information :
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidates education and experience.
Actual pay may be adjusted based on jobrelated factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
