Roles and responsibilities

Reviewing job orders to make the right adjustments to the printing machine
Prepare, Operate and Maintain the press:
Installation of the printing plate with the images to be printed and adjusts the pressure at which the machine prints
loads paper and adjust the press to the paper size
Feeds paper through the press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls
Fills ink and dampening solution fountains of press.
Adjusts press machine parts
Regularly inspect press machine for any malfunctions.
Performs maintenance task on the printing machine
Performs troubleshooting on minor machine issues such as creaking sounds etc.
Coordinate with the in-house maintenance team for any machine malfunctions
Cleaning of the printing press and peripherals
Other duties as maybe assigned by the Supervisor
Set time aside to learn and keep oneself updated with the latest printing technologies
Initiate interest to cross train with other operators handling different press machine to enhance skills

Press Operation and Setup
Press Setup: Set up printing presses or production presses by selecting and installing appropriate materials (e.g., plates, ink, paper, or metal) and adjusting settings for desired output.
Adjusting Controls: Adjust press controls, such as speed, pressure, and temperature, to ensure the press runs efficiently and the finished product meets quality standards.
Loading Materials: Load paper, ink, or other materials into the press, ensuring proper alignment and feeding to avoid jams and ensure smooth operation.
Machine Operation: Operate the press, ensuring it runs at the correct speed and under optimal conditions while monitoring the quality of the print or product being produced.
Quality Control and Inspection
Product Inspection: Inspect prints or products during and after production for quality, ensuring that they meet specifications such as color accuracy, alignment, and consistency.
Monitoring Print Quality: Monitor the press output for defects such as smudges, misalignment, color inconsistencies, or ink coverage issues and make adjustments as needed.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems such as print errors, material feed issues, or mechanical failures that affect the quality of the output.
Record Keeping: Document production runs, including job specifications, materials used, and any issues that occurred, to maintain accurate production records.

Desired candidate profile

Certificate of any program in Printing Technology
At least 1-2 years of related working experience in Printing facility
Familiar with installing different machine parts of the press such as plates, rollers and feed guides and adjusting them to meet the required result
Attention to details
Technical knowledge on the printing machines
Ability to communicate
Ability to work well with others
Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Routine Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, to ensure the press runs smoothly and remains in good condition.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues, such as paper jams, misfeeds, or ink-related issues, and make necessary repairs or adjustments.
Preventive Maintenance: Follow a preventive maintenance schedule to identify and fix potential problems before they cause significant downtime or damage to the equipment.
Replacing Parts: Replace worn-out or damaged parts, such as rollers, belts, and ink cartridges, to maintain machine performance.
Safety and Compliance
Safety Protocols: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. This includes wearing proper protective equipment and adhering to safety procedures to prevent accidents.
Hazardous Materials Handling: Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials, such as chemicals and inks, following environmental and safety regulations.
Compliance: Ensure that all press operations comply with industry regulations, including environmental and safety standards, and company policies.
