Warehouse Officer

Roles and responsibilities

Check the load physically against the load requisition of each sales truck.
Investigate any differences found between loaded quantity and the load request and correct them.
Verify the Inventory Report from the salesman and tally with the end day closing truck stock.
Report variances to the store personnel for further action.
Report any date-expired/ near expiry/ damaged goods to the Storekeeper.
Report any products in the store that are nearing date of expiry and are slow moving and any other unusual defects or quality issues noticed in the products.
Work towards own objectives in achieving team goals
Receiving and Inspecting Goods
Verify Deliveries: Check incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, or invoices to confirm that the right items and quantities have been delivered.
Inspect Goods: Examine products for defects, damage, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the relevant department or supervisor.
Record Discrepancies: Document any discrepancies between the received stock and the order, including missing or damaged items, and notify management or suppliers as needed.
Goods Handling: Ensure that all goods are received in a safe manner, following proper lifting, handling, and storage techniques to avoid damage.
Stock Organization and Inventory Management
Stock Allocation: Assist in ensuring that items are stored in their proper locations within the warehouse, following the warehouse’s organizational system.
Inventory Verification: Regularly perform inventory checks to ensure that stock levels match the records in the system, helping to maintain accurate inventory data.
Stock Rotation: Ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO – First In, First Out) to minimize the risk of product spoilage or expiration, particularly for perishable goods.
Inventory Adjustments: Adjust inventory records based on discrepancies, damaged goods, or returns, ensuring the accuracy of stock counts and availability.
Order Fulfillment and Shipping
Picking Orders: Help in picking items from the warehouse to fulfill customer orders, ensuring accuracy in the items selected.
Packing Goods: Verify that goods are correctly packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment, ensuring they are sent to the correct destination.
Shipping Documentation: Ensure that all shipping documentation (such as shipping labels, bills of lading, or packing slips) is complete and accurate.
Coordinate with Logistics: Work closely with the shipping and logistics team to ensure that products are shipped on time and with correct labeling and packaging.

Desired candidate profile

Secondary School Certificate
3 years of experience in warehouse/inventory within a FMCG company
Good knowledge in English
Knowledge in basic inventory document handling & or quotation handling
Bilingual
Technical Skills
Inventory Management Systems: Familiarity with warehouse management software or inventory systems to track products and manage stock movements.
Barcode Scanning: Experience with barcode scanners and RFID technology to track products and update inventory in real-time.
Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems to record inventory levels and generate reports, including basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
Organizational Skills
Warehouse Organization: Ability to maintain an organized warehouse, ensuring products are correctly stored and easily accessible.
Time Management: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks, especially during busy periods or when handling multiple shipments.
Communication Skills
Collaboration: Ability to work well with team members, supervisors, and other departments (e.g., shipping, procurement) to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Reporting: Clear communication in documenting and reporting any issues with stock or inventory discrepancies.
