Sous Chef
Location: Cumbria England

Salary: £28000 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of highquality dishes.
- Oversee the daily kitchen operations and ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Manage and lead the kitchen staff in the absence of the Head Chef fostering a collaborative working environment.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely.
- Contribute to the creation of new menus and recipe development.
- Monitor stock levels and manage inventory to minimize waste.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff ensuring they follow best practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a busy kitchen environment.
- Formal culinary qualifications or a diploma in culinary arts.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and health standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Desired Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting.
- Experience in menu planning and special dietary requirements is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospitalityfocused establishment is advantageous.
