Job Description

Founded in 2023 HalioGen Power is a University of Manchester spinoff focused on disrupting the longduration energy storage industry with our innovative flow battery. We partner with key institutions and accelerator programmes including SprinD the Energy Innovation Agency INEOS Ansys Innovate UK PortXL and D2XCEL.

Tasks
- Research and Development: Conduct experiments to determine the optimal conditions for the running of a novel membraneless redox flow battery.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control on battery components including the electrode and electrolyte. Further improve the quality control procedures within the company
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineers and other scientists to optimize production processes for efficiency and costeffectiveness.
- Chemical Handling: Implement proper chemical handling procedures for large the assembly and disassembly of redox flow batteries
- Safety Procedures: Develop and implement safety procedures for handling large amounts of dangerous chemicals.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports research papers and recommendations based on research findings.
- Pilot Plant Operation: Produce documentation for the pilot plant including assembly disassembly and operation of the redox flow batteries.
- Staff Training: Provide training to current employees for the safe operation of the pilot plant.
Requirements
- Educational Background: A degree in chemistry or a related field is typically required.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to conduct experiments and interpret data.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in conducting experiments and documenting results.
- Communication Skills: Ability to prepare detailed reports and present findings to management and other stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with crossfunctional teams including engineering quality assurance and production.
