About the Role
The Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a culture of safety excellence within the organization. This position collaborates closely with the plant manager supervisors and team members to ensure compliance with safety standards and the effective implementation of safety practices. The ideal candidate is adaptable resourceful and capable of making informed decisions in challenging situations.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all levels of management to promote and maintain safety excellence.
- Demonstrate flexibility in managing daytoday activities and shifting priorities.
- Make sound decisions on complex or controversial safety matters.
- Lead improvement initiatives audits and safety inspections.
- Provide coaching deliver presentations and conduct oneonone interventions on safetyrelated topics.
- Track schedule and oversee the maintenance of equipment facilities and property to ensure operational safety and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree BCSP ASP or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Proven experience with OSHA standards accident/incident investigations and compliance inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable in Emergency Response Hazard Communication (HazCom) Respiratory Protection Standards and other OSHAmandated programs.
- Capable of independently managing multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams on various issues.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in safety industrial hygiene or a related science field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a related role.
- Demonstrated expertise in training others on safety standards and protocols.
- Professional safety certification is a plus.
- Experience managing facilities and equipment maintenance programs is highly desirable.
