We are currently looking for a Backup & Recovery Engineer to support a leading client in the real estate industry.
Project Information
The Backup & Recovery Engineer will be responsible for ensuring efficient and secure backup and recovery of critical enterprise data hosted in Microsoft Azure. This role involves designing implementing and managing backup solutions for cloudbased and hybrid infrastructures. You will collaborate with cloud architects system administrators and security teams to ensure business continuity and data protection.
Responsibilities
- Design implement and manage Azurebased backup and recovery solutions including Azure Backup Azure Site Recovery and thirdparty tools.
- Develop test and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with best practices.
- Automate backup workflows using tools like Azure Automation PowerShell and similar technologies.
- Monitor and optimize backup performance ensuring data protection and integrity.
- Document backup and recovery processes including disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backuprelated issues and support data restoration when needed.
- Work closely with IT teams to align with cloud strategies and train staff on best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and establish RPO/RTO goals.
Skills
- At least 3 years of experience with backup and recovery solutions especially in cloud environments like Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in Azure Backup Azure Site Recovery and Azure Storage.
- Proficiency in PowerShell Azure CLI or similar scripting tools for automation.
- Familiarity with enterprise backup software such as Veeam Commvault or EMC.
- Strong understanding of Azure services including virtual machines storage and databases.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Knowledge of data encryption retention policies and security compliance standards.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
