Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Check stock counts physically along with the stock information available in the system
Investigate if any differences found between stock availability & take corrective actions
Cross check summaries of inventory reports and stock movements and update stock information in the systems.
Conduct stock audits
Report variances to the store manager for further action.
Work along with warehouse checkers regarding any date-expired/ near expiry/ damaged goods and take necessary actions.
Make summaries of products in the store that are nearing date of expiry and are slow moving and any other unusual defects or quality issues noticed in the products and inform to the store manager
Inventory Management
Stock Tracking: Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring stock levels are updated regularly in the inventory system.
Stock Replenishment: Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to avoid shortages, ensuring that there is no overstocking or understocking.
Inventory Audits: Conduct regular physical inventory counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure that stock levels match the records in the inventory system.
Organizing Stock: Ensure that all products are stored correctly in designated areas to maintain an organized and efficient warehouse or storeroom.
Minimize Waste: Monitor shelf life of items and ensure that products with limited expiration dates are used first, minimizing waste due to spoilage or damage.
Receiving and Inspecting Goods
Goods Receiving: Oversee the receipt of goods, ensuring that deliveries are complete and match the purchase orders. Inspect goods for quality and condition.
Documentation: Ensure that all necessary documentation (e.g., delivery notes, invoices, purchase orders) is properly completed and stored.
Reporting Damaged Goods: Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or missing items to the relevant department or supplier, and handle returns or replacements.
Organization and Storage
Efficient Organization: Ensure all goods are stored in an orderly manner, labeled correctly, and categorized according to type, size, or use for easy access.
Proper Handling of Goods: Ensure that stock is handled properly to prevent damage, including the use of appropriate shelving, temperature control (for perishable goods), and safety procedures.
Space Optimization: Maximize storage space by organizing products in a way that ensures easy access and proper storage conditions.
Stock Issuance and Distribution
Order Fulfillment: Issue materials or products from stock according to internal requests, ensuring that the right quantity is provided to the appropriate departments.
Stock Issuance Records: Maintain accurate records of all issued materials, ensuring accountability and traceability of goods.
Monitoring Usage: Track the usage of supplies and materials to identify trends and anticipate future needs.


Desired candidate profile

Minimum 2 years storekeeping experience in FMCG warehousing operation
Prior experience working with software related to stores and stock counts
Knowledge in stock summary report preparation & conducting of stock audits
Good English communication skills ; Bilingual is a preference ( eg. English and Hindi / Arabic)
Good computer literacy specially Microsoft office package
Organizational Skills
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure that stock records are accurate, and that the right quantities are delivered, stored, and distributed.
Inventory Control: Knowledge of inventory control systems, stock rotation techniques (e.g., FIFO - First In, First Out), and stock auditing practices.
Space Management: Ability to efficiently organize a storage space to maximize available area while maintaining easy access to all stock.
Technical Skills
Inventory Management Systems: Proficiency with inventory management software or systems to track stock levels, manage orders, and create reports (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
Basic Accounting: Basic understanding of accounting principles, especially related to cost control and managing inventory values.
Barcoding and Scanning: Knowledge of using barcodes or RFID technology for tracking inventory in larger organizations.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
Clear Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with other departments (e.g., purchasing, maintenance, housekeeping) to fulfill stock requests.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with team members and management, especially when reporting stock discrepancies or requesting new supplies.
Problem-Solving: Ability to handle challenges, such as stock shortages, incorrect deliveries, or damaged goods, in a professional and timely manner.
