We are currently seeking a qualified Lead Concrete Superintendent to join our Construction team based out of Northern Nevada. The Lead Concrete Superintendent will manage a team and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging material management quantity validation safety and quality control technical inspection and testing knowledge and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely are complete and conform to quality standards and project requirements. The position will be a 6 on 2 off rotation within the state of Nevada.The project is located in the high desert and wideopen spaces of northcentral Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Previous experience on major projects (PFE Tier II exceeding $1B and/or 1500 craft workers) or those with increased complexity performs the duties of the Project Field Engineer responsible for coordination of all activities related to the area of responsibility and interfacing with all other operating sections of the jobsite.
- Proactively engages with their teams development through CPM competency development/assessment and feedback
- Develops and recommends the construction engineering staffing plan for approval by the Site Manager (or appropriate level of Project Management) and prepares employee requisitions.
- Directs construction engineering activities of the assigned construction engineering staff ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Directs the design of temporary construction facilities as required.
- Directs preparation of requisitions for field procured materials material substitution services and equipment.
- Possesses responsibility for quantity takeoff control reporting and forecasting.
- Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Reviews and approves inspection test plans
- Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
Qualifications :
- Technical University Degree and a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience in concrete operations; to ensure adequate coordination with batch plant and other stakeholders for smooth and safe execution of concrete activities at site.
- Experience managing union craft.
- Familiar with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses.
- Extensive working knowledge of construction planning monitoring and control.
- Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractors responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
- Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook.
- Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
- Knowledge of Zero Accidents safety program.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of all disciplines all construction technologies and jobsite management.
- Demonstrated leadership in a teambased environment.
- Knowledge of projectspecific environmental compliance requirements and general awareness of environmental laws.
- Knowledge of manual craft timekeeping and Microsoft suite in word processing spreadsheet and database applications.
- Knowledge of project Quality Assurance program.
