Job Description
Job Purpose:
- To guarantee that machine works according to OEE targets
- To guarantee that tooling change has to be done according to work order due date
- To be responsible for tooling changing warehouse and spares
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain machine shop equipment using safe work practices and conduct.
- Setup a variety of machines and equipment to fabricate sockets
- Perform hand tool operations such as fitting polishing and deburring.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Work with manufacturing engineers on the manufacturability of designs with design input to avoid costly mistakes and lost time.
- Maintain inventory of spares
- Maintain accurate records in a timely fashion as required.
- Achieve required quality levels. Ability to check and verify quality of own work.
- Estimate and then manage time to completion on jobs to meet deadlines.
- Compliance and participation in all Smiths Connectors EHS programs policies procedures and training requirements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform scheduled maintenance
Qualifications :
Technical Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Trade/technical school graduate with 35 years machinist experience.
- Ability to use measuring instruments including micrometers calipers dial indicators optical comparators etc.
- Good verbal written and interpersonal skills
