Job Description

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $60889.00 $70022.00

The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures that high quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety permanency and wellbeing for children in foster care. FPS is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as a Youth Coordinator for the Office of Older Youth Development Services (OYDS) to lead ACS work in the area of supportive monitoring technical support preparing youth for adulthood and communitybased support. Reporting to the Program Supervisor for the FPS Office of Older Youth Development Services the selected candidate will be an integral member of the FPS and ACS programming teams.

The Office of Older Youth Development Services (OYDS) serves as the agency point of contact for monitoring youth between the ages of 1821 years old who have elected to leave foster care with a goal of Another Planned Permanent Living Arrangement (APPLA) prior to reaching their 21st birthday and also supports special project of working with longstayers at the Childrens Center. The Youth Coordinator of this program area will be responsible for recommending and implementing programmatic and policy initiatives to improve permanency outcomes for ACS involved children and youth working closely with crossdivisional partners and communitybased programs and other key stakeholders.

The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for performing the following duties but not limited to:

Complete discharge checklist every 6months.
Participate in reentry conferences.
Provide supportive monitoring.
Community engagement for youth with services.
Support efforts to link youth/family with educational and vocational support.
Provide case specific consultation to special initiatives such as closedown or working with longstayers at the Childrens Center.
Provide linkage to internal ACS units such as housing.
Participate in family team conferences and case specific conferences.
Provide clarity regarding the role and responsibility of each stakeholder.
Collaborate with the Family Service Unit/Division of Child Protection when required.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
