Job Description

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $60889.00 $70022.00

The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages communitybased supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Administration provides a wide range of support services throughout ACS to ensure all Divisions receive adequate and efficient support services to carry out their respective missions. The Division of Administration (Admin) employs approximately 463 public employees. Admin manages a Personnel Services (PS) Budget of approximately $29M and an Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) Budget (OTPS) of $140M. It provides services including building maintenance real estate design construction management facilities and custodial services occupational safety and health operational support security transportation and print production.

The Office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides highlevel administrative and analytical operational support to the Division of Administration. The Office of the COO is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of shortterm plans and longterm organizational strategies for the Division factoring in all projects and plans approved by the Deputy Commissioner. The Office manages the $75M Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) Budget for all Divisional contracts and finances for the Division to effectively manage contracts and deliver operational goods and services.


Job Description:

The New York City Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) seeks a highly organized and resultsdriven individual to serve as Operations Project Manager within the Division of Administration. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) the Operations Project Manager will provide essential project management and operational support to the COO and unit areas ensuring the successful execution and completion of key initiatives. This role focuses on tracking deliverables streamlining processes and supporting unitspecific and crossfunctional projects to advance the Divisions priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management and Support

Provide project management support to the COO and unit areas ensuring alignment with operational goals.
Work closely with the COO and unit stakeholders to plan manage and track project timelines deliverables and outcomes.
Monitor and adjust project plans as needed to ensure timely completion of initiatives.
Support crossfunctional projects by coordinating with unit teams to meet project milestones and resolve issues.
Document and track project activities risks and updates maintaining clear and organized records for review.

Operational Support

Draft memos reports briefs presentations and other materials for the COO.
Support unit areas in implementing processes for financial resources and project management.
Track and manage the Divisions FOIL requests coordinating with unit teams to compile and report data to the COO.
Prepare and manage strategic agendas ensuring meeting materials align with project objectives and Division goals.

Special Projects and Communication

Assist the COO in managing highpriority initiatives including RTA 2.0 and other crossdivisional projects.
Collaborate with unit areas to ensure project deliverables are met and reported effectively.
Provide clear and timely updates on the Divisions progress on major initiatives to the COO and stakeholders.

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
