Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Liaising with Government Agencies
Communicating with various government departments to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
Handling visa and work permit applications for international staff.
Compliance Management
Ensuring the hotel adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may affect hotel operations.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintaining accurate records of all government-related documents, such as visas, work permits, and occupational health cards
Creating and maintaining a systematic filing system for all government relation matter
Employee Support
Assisting employees with government-related processes, such as visa renewals and health card applications.
Coordinating medical schedules and ensuring employees have the necessary health certifications
Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution
Addressing any issues that arise with government agencies or compliance matters.
Finding effective solutions to ensure smooth operations.
Strategic Planning and Reporting
Advising hotel management on government relations strategies and potential impacts of regulatory changes.
Preparing reports on government relations activities and compliance status.
1. Government and Public Policy Advocacy:
Monitor Legislation and Regulations: Stay informed about relevant local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies that may affect the organization. This includes analyzing proposed bills and regulations and assessing their potential impact.
Advocate for the Organization: Represent the organization’s interests in discussions with government officials, agencies, and regulatory bodies. Advocate for policies, laws, and regulations that align with the organization’s goals.
Develop Government Relations Strategies: Create strategies to influence public policy decisions and government actions in ways that benefit the organization. This could involve lobbying efforts, public campaigns, or participation in public hearings and consultations.
2. Building and Maintaining Relationships:
Engage with Government Officials: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key government officials, legislators, and regulators. Attend meetings, briefings, and networking events to engage with public stakeholders.
Represent the Organization: Act as the organization's spokesperson for matters related to government policy. Represent the company at industry events, government conferences, and public forums where government relations are discussed.
Collaborate with Industry Groups: Work with trade associations, advocacy groups, and other organizations to align on policy matters and strengthen the organization’s presence within relevant governmental discussions.

Working as a Government Relations Manager in an international luxury hotel requires a combination of strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This role is vital for ensuring the hotel operates smoothly and complies with all necessary regulations

What We Need From You

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration
  • Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role
  • International luxury hotel chain background
  • GCC exposure
  • English Fluency is required
  • Arabic Fluency is preferred
