The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of communitybased organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
The Assistant Videographer and Editor supports the Digital Storyteller in producing and editing video content to elevate DYCDs brand through digital communications and engagement efforts. This role acts as a backup for all video production and editing needs and takes the lead on various production projects. The candidate will proactively develop content to highlight DYCDs impact across New York City. They may also provide leadership in the absence of the Digital Storyteller ensuring video content is executed effectively and efficiently. Staying current on emerging video production trends and technologies is essential. The ability to utilize their talent to help generate pre and post event video content including editing assist with producing original content as well as generate videos for potential advertising and marketing campaigns will be imperative to heightening the agencys brand and tailoring it to all platforms and visual representations. These include internal communications social media various forms of presentations advertising/marketing and press outreach. The candidate will be expected to conceptualize visuals that align with organizational standards and brand expectations.
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
