Job Description
The team you will join: AML Handling
The AML Handling team within the Financial Crime prevention squad focuses on providing backoffice tooling for AML operational teams. As a Member of this team you will be working on improving case handling experience for a growing group of a 200 strong operations team and enable operational teams to get faster in solving cases better in detecting Money Laundering activity in Wise.
Our main vision points are:
We enable a Unified backoffice experience for AML agents such that Agents working on AML Cases have the right information presented to them at the right time.
We leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to automate all time intensive agent tasks and unblock agent productivity.
We enable Operations to create investigation flows instantly to respond to emerging trends and changes.
Overall the AML Handling team will be instrumental in enabling operations to achieve instant queues block good customers for the least amount of time and offer a smooth operational experience for AML agents.
Qualifications :
As an engineering lead youll join a team that helps investigate Money Loundering schemes. Youll work alongside backend engineers and data scientists collaborating with data analysts product managers and engineers across other departments at Wise.

Being responsible for the overall health and productivity of the engineers within your team
Providing feedback on architecture and approach and helping teams make datadriven decisions
Having an overview of whats happening across the organisation and thinking about engineering as a whole
Rolling your sleeves up and coding being involved in the entire process
Is that you
Experience leading coaching and mentoring driven and high performing teams
A passion for international finance foreign exchange and payment systems
Experience working with Java Spring framework asynchronous message queues and have worked with microservices architecture
Comfortable with SQL databases
Experience using LLMs in production
