Job Description
We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist Statistical Analysis to join the Ad Tech Data Science team on our mission to deliver consistently amazing experiences.
As part of our Vendor Team youll be the driving force behind the success of thousands of restaurants shops and local businesses. Your contributions will empower vendors with advanced tools to manage their operations boosting their visibility and reach. Every feature you help build will create growth opportunities for businesses of all sizes strengthening Delivery Heros ecosystem and impact.

In 2024/25 AdTech is a fundamental area for us on our path to profitability and is predicted to generate more than 1 billion euros in revenue for Delivery Hero; our innovative tech and product offering is the backbone of that development.
As a Principal in the team you will elevate the organisations understanding of ad market dynamics through rigorous statistical analysis advanced econometrics and datadriven insights.
Bring a statisticians precision to the study of market behaviour using cuttingedge methodologies to reveal hidden patterns and drive impactful informed decision
Your work will anchor strategy with scientific rigour fostering better outcomes for all stakeholders in this complex competitive ecosystem.
Qualifications :
Advanced Statistical Expertise:
Mastery of statistical modelling techniques including Monte Carlo simulations Bayesian methods and hierarchical models.
Expertise in variance decomposition bootstrapping and model diagnostics to ensure robust and reliable insights.
Proven ability to apply statistical principles to market simulations uncertainty quantification and sensitivity analysis.
Econometrics and Causal Inference Mastery:
Proficiency with causal methods such as instrumental variables differenceindifferences and synthetic controls.
Ability to design and implement experiments or observational studies to identify and quantify causal effects in a multisided market environment.
Economic Systems Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of marketplace economics with a focus on bidding and auction mechanisms within eg CPC CPM and CPA pricing models.
Familiarity with game theory market participant incentives and demand elasticity modelling.
Expertise in detecting and modelling seasonality external shocks and longterm market trends.
Technical and Analytical Mastery:
Deep proficiency in Python SQL and econometric/statistical software like statsmodels or PyMC3.
Strong experience with largescale data processing and designing custom frameworks to interpret frontend tracking data.
Ability to integrate statistical outputs with actionable business insights through compelling visualisations and data storytelling.
Proven Business Impact:
Demonstrated success in using statistical insights to shape business strategy validate assumptions and improve decision making.
Experience leading projects where quantitative rigour directly influenced business metrics and marketplace performance.
NicetoHaves:
Experience developing statistical models for market regulation or policy impact analysis.
Familiarity with advanced experimental design in marketplace contexts such as adaptive experiments or sequential testing methods.
Research contributions or publications focused on marketplace dynamics or statistical innovations in ad markets.
