Job Description
As a Shop Technician you will work in Quality Control (QC) Material Sorting CNC Workstations Accessories and Assembly.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Working Shop Supervisor the Shop Technician is a specialized role. This position involves operating woodworking machines using hand tools preparing measurements and reading and understanding shop drawings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain multiple workstations including edgebanders assembly CNC machinery QC sorting and accessories.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning equipment.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and measuring tapes to verify and compute dimensions of finished pieces ensuring they match the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Demonstrate knowledge of building materials including colors and thicknesses.
- Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Ensure attention to detail and maintain a strong focus on safety.
- Practice good housekeeping to maintain a safe and clutterfree worksite.
- Perform material handling tasks including counting sorting packing and unpacking.
- Proactively communicate job conditions and concerns that may affect the completion of the job.
Qualifications :
Work hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday.
Occasional overtime and Saturday work may be required. Flexibility is appreciated.- Skill development is based on demonstrated competence and written certification.
- Problemsolving is a key component of effective production.
- English proficiency: Ability to speak and read English.
- Physical fitness: Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
