Job Description
SGS is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to fill a fulltime position based in Notting Hill Melbourne. The role is responsible for the analytical testing and reporting for soil water air and other sample matrices conducted in the Inorganic Organic and Radio Chemistry Sections of Environmental Laboratory. This involves utilizing both conventional analytical methods and modern instrumental techniques such as GC GC/MSMS HPLC LC/MSMS ICP/MS and FIA.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Undertake sample preparation analytical and radio chemistry analysis and reporting.
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations.
- Understand and comply to general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
- Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean and tidy avoiding contamination clutter and to protect the companys assets.
- Maintain and update skills qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Team Leader
Qualifications :
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science preferably in Chemistry
- Experience in a general laboratory environment preferred
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks.
