The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping team to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness and order. This role involves managing staff, organizing workflow, and ensuring all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and schedule housekeeping staff to ensure proper coverage and high standards of cleanliness.
Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure adherence to cleanliness and safety protocols.
Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to existing team members.
Develop and implement housekeeping procedures, checklists, and standards to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Handle inventory management, including ordering and maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment.
Address guest complaints and concerns related to housekeeping in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor and manage housekeeping budgets, including labor and supply costs.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation and guest experience.
. Supervision and Staff Management
Team Supervision: Oversee and supervise housekeeping staff, including housekeepers, room attendants, and cleaning staff, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Training and Development: Train new housekeeping employees on procedures, standards, and proper use of cleaning tools and equipment. Conduct ongoing training and performance reviews.
Work Allocation: Assign daily cleaning tasks to staff based on room occupancy, guest requirements, and hotel priorities. Ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of housekeeping staff, provide feedback, and address any performance issues. Recognize and encourage high-performing employees.
Shift Coordination: Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for different shifts, including peak times, special events, or high-occupancy periods.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in hospitality management or related field is advantageous.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency with housekeeping and cleaning equipment and techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ensuring Cleaning Standards and Quality Control
Inspecting Rooms and Facilities: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and other hotel spaces to ensure that cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards are met.
Quality Control: Ensure that rooms and common areas are cleaned to the highest standards, paying attention to detail in all aspects of cleanliness (e.g., dusting, vacuuming, bed making, etc.).
Check for Maintenance Issues: Identify any maintenance or repair issues in rooms and public areas and report them to the appropriate departments for timely resolution.
Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that guest expectations are met by ensuring rooms and facilities are cleaned and prepared before check-in and that any guest requests related to housekeeping are promptly addressed
