About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Sr. Grading Estimator/Project Manager to join a leading site development company in Wilmington NC. This fulltime role involves estimating site development projects managing site work and utility construction projects and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have expertise in civil site construction and utility management with experience in 3D estimating software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and manage site work and utility construction projects utilizing Carlson Civil Software and/or AgTek.
  • Oversee project budgets schedules and overall progress to meet objectives.
  • Supervise site superintendents vendors and subcontractors to ensure efficiency and costeffectiveness.
  • Serve as the primary communicator with project owners engineers and stakeholders.
  • Attend prebid meetings with owners vendors and subcontractors to gather project details.
  • Develop accurate and competitive bid proposals including quantity takeoffs crew composition and pricing.
  • Negotiate secure and manage subcontracts ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Analyze and compare bid pricing with historical data for improved accuracy.
  • Interpret and communicate project specifications and plans to superintendents and foremen.
  • Review material submittals and secure necessary approvals.
  • Maintain detailed project schedules progress reports and budget updates.
  • Handle change order pricing and negotiations to ensure project profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 5 to 10 years of experience in site work and utility construction project management.
    • Proven track record in estimating and managing civil site and utility construction projects.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in 3D Estimating Software (e.g. Carlson Civil Software AgTek).
    • Strong working knowledge of construction means methods crew composition and production rates.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook) and project scheduling software (e.g. MS Project).
    • Cost accounting experience preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid drivers license.
    • Ability to pass a preemployment drug screening.
    • Strong attention to detail selfmotivation and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
