Job Description
The Structural Bridge Engineer will be entrusted with critical responsibilities that are fundamental to the success of our projects and the safety of our infrastructure. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing specialized technical input to studies and designs within the engineers specific area of expertise. This crucial contribution ensures the highest standards of engineering excellence are maintained.
- Developing and implementing study and design procedures that facilitate highquality costeffective work by team members. This responsibility is essential for maintaining our competitive edge and delivering value to our clients.
- Participating in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables. This collaborative effort is vital to ensure comprehensive and integrated project outcomes.
- Developing precise construction cost estimates and accurate estimates of technical efforts for projects. These estimations are critical for project planning and resource allocation.
- Utilizing expertise in all stages of completing the discipline component of PS&E packages. This comprehensive involvement is crucial for maintaining consistency and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Performing rigorous quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings. This meticulous attention to detail is paramount in ensuring the safety and reliability of our structural designs.
- Preparing technical specification sections with utmost precision and clarity. These specifications serve as the foundation for project execution and must meet the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.
- Providing strategic input to the development of engineering budgets and schedules to meet project requirements. This contribution is essential for effective project management and successful delivery of our commitments.
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering plus four years of relevant experience in transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to hold a PE license in both NY and NJ within 12 months of hire
- Experience working with bridges rail and highway bridge projects
- Experience working in NY Metro agencies
- Proficiency with CAD and similar computer software
