Job Description

Follows standardized procedures and prepares samples for testing. Analyzes test results for accuracy acceptability and critical limits. Relies on limited independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Functional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operation and maintenance (including minor troubleshooting) of automated chemistry analyzers
  • Data entry as well as assessment and interpretation of quality control results
  • Testing production and research & development samples and assessing testing results

Team responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Focus on customer service
  • Problem solving including ability to reprioritize and adjust workload as needed
  • Working with Production and R&D personnel to ensure efficient use of reagents and analyzers
  • Able to evaluate processes for inefficiencies and suggest improvements
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications :

  • Associates in Medical Laboratory Science or a Bachelors degree in Medical Technology (preferred) or related science degree (i.e. biology chemistry biochemistry)
  • 13 years working experience in a clinical chemistry lab or equivalent setting
  • Organization and multitasking skills
  • Experienced in use of various software programs
  • Previous working experience with mainstream clinical analyzers from Roche Siemens OrthoClinical Beckman Coulter or Abbott desired.
