If so we would love to hear from you as we are seeking a Loans Set Coordinator Instrument Technician for fulltime employment reporting to the CSSD Manager at Epworth Geelong Waurn Ponds. Your role will involve checking loan equipment in and out of our busy department as well as coordinating with company representatives and theatre staff to ensure all necessary loan instrumentation and prostheses are sterilised and ready for when they are needed in theatre. You will also contribute to other areas of the department when needed but will mostly work with loan instruments and prostheses. You will contribute to infection prevention and control as well as overall patient safety by ensuring the quality of reusable medical devices through sterilisation and disinfection processes.
Twilight shifts available working in loans department from Wednesday to Friday commencing at 1030 or 1100 with flexible working arrangements to assist you with your work/life balance. Alternative roster times can be discussed with the successful applicant. Remaining shift hours can be discussed with individual candidates but would generally be a mix of early and late shifts.
Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of service to meet the specific daily operational needs
Ensuring accurate processes are undertaken and documented
Actively participating in the quality improvement program within the department
Practicing within the requirements of the RMD sterilisation standards and standard operating procedures
To be successful in this role:
You will support the theatre team by collection cleaning decontamination inspection testing packing sterilisation storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and equipment and will be a proactive member of a selfdirected and cohesive CSSD team. Experience in CSSD loans equipment and/or theatre nursing is essential for this role.
You will be dedicated to quality service provision that aligns with the requirements of relevant regulations and standards enjoy working independently within a team under the direction of a team leader and department manager and be committed to quality improvement.
You will have:
A minimum Sterilisation Services Certificate IV with CSSD experience or Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with theatre experience
If you are a CSSD instrument technician you will have experience and competence working in all areas of CSSD with an ability to plan organise and prioritise work
If you are an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) you will have experience working in theatre and have knowledge of instruments used in surgery and be willing to undertake Certificate IV in Sterilisation.
A commitment to excellent customer service and quality improvement
A working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards impacting sterilizing services
Demonstrated knowledge in the application of infection prevention and control practices as well as OHS requirements as they relate to sterilizing services

We operate Monday to Friday with emergencies on weekends which helps provide flexible rostering giving our staff an excellent work/life balance. The annual salary range for Instrument Technicians AUD $57295 $70910 super entitlements dependent on year level and qualifications (prorated for parttime).
